Motiv vom Brocken (2013)

In preparation to this piece, the male chorus watches youtube tutorials learning how to imitate the roaring of moose. The roar-composition, which is being „domesticized“ into a romantic choral composition during the coarse of the piece, is superimposed by a backtrack played back trough a megaphone. From the backtrack, we hear a seductive female voice reciting a text by German art critic Ludwig Pietsch (1824-1911). Impressed by Christian Kröners monumental painting of a roaring moose, „Motiv vom Brocken“ („Motive from the Brocken mountain“, 1886), Pietsch found it necessary to claim general assumptions about the sexuality not only of moose.

Die Mitte als Peripherie: Mücke ist die Mitte Hessens.

In Mücke liegt die Mitte / in Mitte liegt der Reichstag.

Ein Wortspiel, ein Sprung, eine Expedition:

In der Provinz die Weltläufigkeit suchen / die Provinz in der Weltstadt finden.

Wo klingt Mitte wie Mücke? / Wo klingt Mücke wie Mitte?
